The mysterious Darlok reside within their impressive Monolith, a starcraft of massive proportions, orbiting the star Nazin in the Orien Cluster. They are a reclusive race that use intermediaries to engage with outsiders.

These intermediaries themselves have little to say on the nature of the Darlok. Most business is conducted via secure communications. Direct contact with the Darlok is exceedingly rare, even with their emissaries.

Descriptions of the Darlok indicate that they are tall, slender, and humanoid. It has been noted that all Darlok so far encountered have been concealed entirely by what appears to be an environmental suit.. No one has ever seen a Darlok outside its suit. Nothing is directly known of Darlok physiology.

The Darlok appear to be highly advanced, relative to Pact World standards. Their entire society is space-based with the core of their population residing in a massive starcraft colloquially referred to as the Monolith. This structure is accompanied by a sizable fleet of ships.

Accounts from other races indicate the Darlok are not native to the Orien cluster, having arrived in the Nazin system sometime in 278 AG. They have since claimed the Nazin system as their domain and are not known to leave it.

Any vessel that enters the Nazin system is ordered to leave immediately. The Darlok fleet will dispatch vessels to intercept intruders and enforce these orders. Early encounters with the Darlok fleet resulted in devasting losses for those races who chose to challenge their claim to Nazin.

The Darlok Cabal accepted a seat on the Orien Council when it was formed, however has never dispatched a delegation to attend any of its meetings. In the rare instances they have chosen to vote on matters before the council, they have always done so by proxy. The Mrrshan Empire, the only Council Race known to have formal ties to the Darlok, represent them in these instances.
